Radcliffe Viaducts (27-47) (Malcolm Whitehead Trophy)
- Andy Carr 6lb 8oz
- Gary Pilsworth 5lb 6oz
- Pete Marston 4lb 4oz
Ten anglers fished this match but, on what turned out to be a lovely summer’s day, the weights were disappointing – despite the river looking so promising.
Andy Carr was drawn on peg 43 and claimed his first match win of the year. His weight consisted of silvers caught at 14m on a small maggot feeder.
Gary was on the next peg (42) and fished the pole all day to catch small bleak, perch and dace for his second placed 5lb 6oz.
Pete Marston completed the frame with a net comprising of a bream, eel, perch and dace – all caught on maggot feeder cast down the edge at peg 28.
In the Knock-Out Cup, Gary eliminated Nic Wort and will now face Mark Baker in the semi-final at Janson’s on July 31st.
